Academic Senate: The Plenary Meeting of the USU Academic Senate (SA) resulted in eight people elected as Members of the USU Board of Trustees (MWA) of the Academic Senate for the 2020-2025 Period while completing the remaining term of office of the MWA Members for the 2015-2020 Period. Such information was conveyed by one of the elected members of the MWA, Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba, S.H., M.Hum., who is also a Professor of the USU Faculty of Law.
"The Plenary Meeting, whose sole agenda is the election of members of the USU Board of Trustees of the SA element for the 2020 - 2025 Period, as well as filling the remaining term of office of the Members of the Board of Trustees of the SA element for the 2015 - 2020 Period, has succeeded in electing eight (8) in the order of the largest number of voters", he said.
The 8 people who will sit as members of the Board of Trustees from the Academic Senate are Prof. Dr. Ir. Darma Bakti, M.Si. (Professor of the Faculty of Agriculture USU) with 11 votes, Dr. Ir. Fahmi, M.T. (Lecturer of the Faculty of Engineering USU), who received 11 votes, Prof. Dr. H. Hasim Purba, S.H., M.Hum. (Professor of the Faculty of Law USU) with 11 votes, M. Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.Si. (Lecturer of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences USU) 11 votes, Puspa Melati, S.H., M.Hum. (lecturer of FH USU) 10 votes, Prof. Dr. Khairina Nasution (Professor of Faculty of Cultural Sciences USU) 9 votes, Prof. Dr. Ir. Johannes Tarigan (Faculty of Engineering USU) 9 votes and Prof. Dr. Guslihan Dasatjipta, Sp. A (from Faculty of Medicine USU) 8 votes. The election results will be submitted to the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture for issuing a decree, which will take up to 14 working days.
The 4 people who failed in the election were Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Irvan, M.Si. (Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yamin, S.H., M.S., CN (Faculty of Law), Dr. Mutiara Indah Sari, M.Kes. (Faculty of Medicine), and Prof. Dr. Syafruddin Ilyas, M.Biomed (F-MIPA).
