Plenary Meeting of the Academic Senate with Discussion Regarding Consideration / Approval of the Proposed Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) an. Soedjai Kartasasmita took place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the Academic Senate Conference Room, 3rd Floor, USU Administrative Center Bureau.

In an effort to realize the performance contract between the Dean of the Faculty of Letters and the Rector of Universitas Negeri Malang, particularly in the aspect of Improving the Quality of Institutional Management and Governance, the Faculty Senate of the Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang conducted a visit to the Academic Senate of Universitas Sumatera Utara on Tuesday, 19 July 2022.

In an effort to enhance knowledge and insight, particularly regarding policies related to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Academic Senate of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) conducted a working visit to the Academic Senate of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) on Friday, 10 June 2022. This visit also served as a reciprocal visit, as previously the Academic Senate of USU had visited the Academic Senate of UNAIR in Surabaya on 14 December 2021. The UNAIR delegation consisted of 12 members and was led by the Chair of the Academic Senate, Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., Ph.D., Sp.PD., K-GH., FINASIM, along with the Secretary of the Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Mustain, M.Si.

The USU Academic Senate (SA) held a visit (benchmarking) to the IPB Academic Senate and discussed the process of organizing Legal Entity Higher Education (PTNBH), Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), and Academic Policy at IPB, November 17, 2021.

The Plenary Session took the theme "Strengthening Commitment to the Implementation of Free Learning and Independent Learning, Reducing the Gap between University and Industrial Culture, and Promoting Cooperation in Achieving World Class University."
