Medan - USU Public Relations: Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was appointed host of the 2019 PTN-BH Academic Senate Assembly (MSA) Plenary Session. The activity, attended by Academic Senate delegates from 11 PTN BH, occurred from February 18 to 19, 2019, at Universitas Sumatera Utara Student Center. The Indonesian Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak., is scheduled to open the event on Monday morning (17/2).
Accompanying the Minister, Secretary General of Kemenristekdikti Prof. Ainun Naim, Ph.D., MBA, and other ministry officials, as well as the Chairman of the Academic Senate-Assembly of PTN-BH, Prof. Ir. Priyo Suprobo, M.S., Ph.D. The Governor of North Sumatra, H Edy Rahmayadi, and several North Sumatra Provincial Government officials attended. While from USU, USU Rector Prof. Dr. Runtung Sitepu, S.H., M.Hum., Vice-Rectors, Head and Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Head and Vice Head of the Board of Professors, expert staff, and other institutional leaders at USU will be present.
Minister of Research and Technology Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak, will appear as one of the main speakers, carrying the presentation material, which takes the theme "Development of Human Resources and Academic Support Facilities." The other two speakers are Prof. Yanuarsyah (Kemenristekdikti Central PAK Team), who will present the material "Implementation of PAK at the Central level," and Prof. Juanda Nawawi (UNHAS), with the material "Strategy for Accelerating Professor Appointments."
The Plenary Session of MSA PTN-BH is a quarterly routine agenda held by the Academic Senate-Assembly of PTN-BH; before the plenary session, MSA PTN-BH held a Commission Meeting, which was held alternately at 11 PTN-BH Universities. The plenary session of MSA PTN-BH at USU is a plenary of the results of the previous commission session at UGM, UNHAS, and UPI. This was said by the Secretary of the USU Academic Senate, Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP., during the rehearsal of the activity on Sunday (17/2).
The Academic Senate-Assembly of PTN-BH is a partnership between the Academic Senate of PTN-BH and strategic partners of the Government and other stakeholders in fighting for the common interests of legal entity universities in particular, and universities in general, in various aspects and relevant issues.
MSA PTN-BH functions to establish strategic cooperation in education, research, and community service to develop science, foster quality human resources, and help solving problems faced by PTN-BH in particular and the Indonesian nation in general. (PR)
