Academic Senate USU - Plenary Meeting of the Academic Senate with Discussion Regarding Consideration / Approval of the Proposed Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) an. Soedjai Kartasasmita took place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the Academic Senate Conference Room, 3rd Floor, USU Administrative Center Bureau.
Soedjai Kartasasmita is an elder in the field of plantation development in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra, consistently and continuously. He also plays an active role in the development of the plantation industry, improvement in the field of plantation research, and management and human resource development in plantations, starting in the pre-nationalization era.
Based on these considerations, a proposal is submitted to grant him an Honorary Doctorate Degree.
The Eligibility Test Promoter Team has previously been formed, and its Chairman, Prof. Ir. Zulkifli Nasution, M.Sc, PhD, presented the results at today's plenary meeting.
The Plenary Meeting was attended by the proposing team from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, from the community and the family of Mr Soedjai Kartasasmita.
After a long presentation and discussion, the Head of the Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Suwarto, SH., MH, and all members of the Academic Senate who were present to meet the quorum today decided to approve the proposal for an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) and Soedjai Kartasasmita and will then submit this decision to the Rector.
