Ten Candidates for Members of the USU Board of Trustees and representatives of the Community for the 2020-2025 Period Have Been Elected.

The USU Academic Senate Meeting with the agenda of Election and Determination of Members of the USU Board of Trustees (MWA) USU Representatives for the 2020-2025 Period was held offline (at the Pancasila USU building) and online (using the Zoom Meeting application) by the Head of the USU Academic Senate.

Academic Senate: Universita Sumatera Utara (USU) held a USU Academic Senate Meeting with the agenda of Election and Determination of Members of the USU Board of Trustees (MWA) USU Representatives for the 2020-2025 Period, held at the Pancasila Building USU (7/9/2020) and successfully selected 10 names of candidates.

 

The meeting was opened offline (at the Pancasila USU building) and online (using the Zoom Meeting application) by the Head of the USU Academic Senate. The meeting was attended by 85 out of 101 members of the USU Academic Senate. This number has met the quorum or the minimum number of members who must be present at the opening of the meeting to declare that the meeting and all decisions taken in it are legally valid. This is also in line with Article 6 paragraph (2) of SA Regulation Number 01 of 2016 concerning Procedures for Conducting Meetings of the Academic Senate of Universitas Sumatera Utara.

 

 

Of the 28 candidates for members of the USU Board of Trustees (MWA) of Community Representatives for the 2020-2025 Period who have been netted, one candidate decided to resign on behalf of Asrul Masir Harahap. So, the total number of candidates selected is 27 people. In the process, the Chair of the Academic Senate reads out the list of candidates that can be selected by the members one by one, then determines and ratifies the list with the approval of all meeting participants and conducts voting. Voting occurred under the supervision of three witnesses appointed earlier in the meeting, namely drg. Siti Salmia, Sp.KGA, T Keizeirina Devi Azwar, S.H., CN, M.Hum. and Budi Utomo, S.P., M.P.

 

 

Voting was held until the deadline at 14.00 WIB, where each voter, namely members of the Academic Senate, gave their voting rights by visiting the polling station. It was recorded that 101 members of the Academic Senate had voted in the activity.

 

 

Based on the results of the acquisition and counting of the most votes, there are 10 candidates for members of the USU Board of Trustees representing the Community who will later be proposed to the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and then determined through the Minister of Education and Culture Decree to become members of the USU Board of Trustees representing the Community. The 10 names and their vote results are as follows: Arya Mahendra Sinulingga (12), Irmansyah Batubara (11), Nurmala Kartini Pandjaitan Sjahrir (11), Haryadi (10), Idham (10), Reni Sitawati Siregar (10), Abdul Hakim Siagian (9), Jaleswari Pramodhawardhani (9), Mohammad Abdul Ghani (9) and Usman Kansong (9).

 

 

The 10 names were proposed to the Minister of Education and Culture to complement the proposal of 8 prospective members of the Academic Senate who had been elected at the Academic Senate Plenary Meeting on January 17, 2020, namely Guslihan Dasa Tjipta, Darma Bakti, Johannes Tarigan, Hasim Purba, Khairina Nasution, Fahmi, Puspa Melati Hasibuan and Muhammad Arifin Nasution. The USU Board of Trustees consists of 21 people plus ex-officio, namely the Minister of Education, the Governor of North Sumatra, and the USU Rector.
